Full House at Alexandra House

Alexandra House at Eastwood reached record capacity for 2011, when in September only 1 room remained vacant for a short while!

Staff at the home are one of the top assets, with their friendly ways and caring attitude along with

strong ties to the local community and local health services.

This was borne out by the recent response to the Alexandra House Summer Fayre when the local residents joined in the festivities

with the Care Home residents.

Top Time at Alexandra House with Top Brass

Some say the best Summer Fayre Yet! The music made a real party atmosphere as residents, relatives, staff and Top Brass got swinging!

Opening (right) with Local Eastwood Mayor -Ken Woodhead , Sue Paxton Carer and Lorraine - Activities Coordinator

As usual the Cake Stall was a huge success as people queued up for a ‘slice of the action’, fruit & banana cakes nearly had to be auctioned to prevent fights breaking out!

Thanks to all who got baking for us. Guess the Weight of the Cake also contributed successfully to the fund raising activity, especially when the cake was won by a  relative who then donated it to the fund.

The Tombola run by Wendy Chamberlain, daughter of resident Ella Wilson, who helped out too, got a lot of attention.

Books and Music helped boost the reading & listening habits as local residents got stocked up with their summer reading.

Pictured right - Sally  (Care Home Manager) Dorothy (Carer) & Suzie – looking for bargains!

The Mayor of Eastwood – a regular visitor over the last few months – joined in the occasion and offered his support to the home.

Bric a Brac and Candles were popular too.

Thanks go to all the staff, friends & relatives who baked and donated  to make this a successful fund raising event for the relatives fund

Crowds and Clouds gather at Melbourne House Summer Fayre

The weather did not deter friends and relatives joining us for our Summer Fayre at Melbourne House.

Curry & rice followed by cream teas 'went down well' as we moved inside to be safe from the predicted weather front

The range of stalls and attractions were well received. The raffle was a huge success with prizes galore & everyones a winner!

Louse Rimmer, Melbourne House Care Home Manager helped a resident to select the prize draw for the raffle.

HR Manager Sue Young and daughter Chloe stopped by to see what was going on.

Thank you to all participants for supporting us, including our Staff, Residents, friends and relatives!
