Nottingham Residents News from Eastgate Care

Music to the Ears at Alexandra House

Visitors from the community engage with our residents through voice;

The WI choir serenaded the residents one afternoon.

'It was super to have live music and our residents loved it. Thank you to the WI ladies for visiting us' said Activities Co-ordinator, Debra Bonser.

More singing was welcomed when the local Eastwood Brownie Pack visited the home, to sing some carols.

Milly chatting and exchanging chocolates with the brownies. Great to see the interaction between the young and the elderly, so many plus points, creating delights on both sides.

Delighted to contribute as Derek and Sheila wrap chocolates up to give out to the brownies from Eastwood.

Singing with a difference comes in the form of cowboy Johnathan, who visits monthly to give a little country and western flavour to the music repartee.

Residents use their own artistic mix to work together to create the butterfly poster below, Mavis, Elsie, Mick and Joyce  - great sentiments.

Our residents dont live in our workplace, we work in their home.

Activities Galore at Canal Vue - Ilkeston

Great fun as autumn activities 'kick off' at Canal Vue:

A little bit of Viva Espana, brought a festive atmosphere and some great Spanish dishes which staff are delighted to serve.... Special table settings add to the atmosphere ............. and possibly some Sangria to bring on the smiles.....most enjoyable.

Camera action Abby, there was a game involved but I think Abby was doing all the work and the gents were enjoying watching!

All decorated up for Paella Feast, no rows here about what is in the risotto!

'One must get ones nails done' for all these activities....a little pamper time doesnt go amiss with our lady residents and its a welcome treat.

Its good to take some 'time out' from all the activities and appreciate the surroundings at Canal Vue, as resident Joyce looks across the water to her 'home.'

It takes some preparation all this chopping for Spanish Cuisine, good fun though....!

All this taking place at the sometimes tranquil, Canal Vue, who would've thought that life could be so busy?.....& it will soon be pantomime time!
