Five Stars for Food Hygiene Standards at Belle Vue Care Home, Mapperley

Hazel (pictured left) our Cook at Eastgate's Park House Care Home, Bulwell, brings along her expetise to help out at the recent Hygiene Standards inspections.

Experience matters and the input was invaluable ensuring a 5 star result for Food Hygiene Rating at Belle Vue, which we are all really pleased about.

'We can not under estimate the importance of the kitchen staff, their daily efforts in food preparation and serving a good varied menu to our residents. Achieving a 5 star result puts the icing on the cake for us'

Food safety officers from the local authority inspect businesses to ensure that they comply with food hygiene law. This applies to any type of business which serves food, including restaurants, cafes, take-aways, care homes,  hospitals, schools etc.

We do our best to ensure that everyone involved in the preparation of food has the appropriate food safety training.

Pictured below, our Cook Trudy, at Belle Vue Lodge, who worked with Hazel to achieve hygiene results.

Canal Vue Home Manager

The dining experience is part of daily life, home cooked food is a high priority, with a varied menu to suit all tastes and special dietary needs.

A variety of activities are scheduled daily, our receptive staff are receptive to individual needs and abilities and are keen to provide interaction and encourage involvement.

'Although moving Dad into residential care was a very difficult decision and we'd both had a rough few months, the staff at Canal Vue made it as easy as it could possibly have been. They took time to get to know him and he settled very quickly thanks to their patience and care. In all of his time there he felt safe, loved and important and you can't ask for any more than that. I was always made to feel welcome and I never doubted that he was in safe, caring hands. I would recommend Canal Vue to anyone and everyone who is looking for a warm refuge for an elderly relative.'

Park House - Proud to be recommended on Carehome.co.uk

This is an incredible care home. I was visiting my friend yesterday and there was so much going on. Singing, dancing, games, the staff were joining in and having fun. How wonderful to see people working in a care home truly loving their job. This home should be on the news for what a great home looks like. Thank you, I was so impressed and can not wait to visit next month. Friend of resident
