Fish Friday & a Fine Sunny day at Canal Vue

No wonder it is popular at Canal Vue....................................especially on Fridays;

 I was checking out the view from the sunny patio when the waft of Fish n Chips caught my attention. There must be a chip shop nearby I thought, then I was reliably informed that it was Fish Fridays at Canal Vue - so I had to 'check out' the kitchen ....................................

The tow path is looking lovely for a stroll, with the trees just coming into leaf - a great place to 'stop n stare'.

The serious business of dipping the fish in John's special beer batter.

 Kitchen Assistants; Alison and Laura, preparing the choices to accompany the fish; mash or chips, garden peas or mushy. I forgot to ask what was for dessert - there's always choice for the residents.

Resident Michael, looking jolly in the stripy top with his visitor Kay (who was dying to get out and do some tidying up of the pots on the patio - volunteers most welcome to help! with the gardening.....) No doubt looking forward to his F & C lunch.

Part of the super friendly  Canal Vue team, who obliged with numerous photos during the morning.

Pictured; Jodie, Larraine, Kayleigh, Ann, Megan, Wendy and Margena.

 Just a cup of tea for me please. Eveleena with the tea trolley.

A lovely sunny day by the Erewash Canal.

Ponies party at Park House Bulwell

Park House Celebrated the Queens birthday in a slightly different way, when special visitors Clip Clop Ponies arrived;

Park House Carer, Lynne Brown has a friend who owns the ponies and thought it would be a good idea to bring them in for a visit. Animals are always a good 'talking point' and provide an interest and encourage residents to discuss their experience with animals.

Below, Carer Leann Coupe helps residents integrate with the visiting ponies;

Resident Pat Wass certainly seemed a natural with the animals and enjoys a chat with the pony handler too.

Clip Clop ponies enjoyed the affection from residents who in turn enjoyed being able to pet them. Resident Evelyn Cropley pictured;

Eastgates Human Resource advisor ,Sue Young, is a 'dab hand' with the equine world, but is used to somewhat larger specimens! Sue is interested though to see how staff and residents enjoy the special visit.
