Creative Christmas Preparations underway at Park House, Bulwell

Everyone likes to get their hands on a bauble ............& singing to help along the way with the decorations ..........

Dolly sorts throught the tree decorations to find the best ones - a super little job.

The Salvation Army group from Arnold and Bulwell brought their lovely voices to the Christmas Carols.......

.......which everyone enjoyed. An uplifting sound filled the air in the 'big lounge' which lends itself to such an occasion, it was charming for visitors to the home too;

The amazing voices got all our residents singing with smiles upon their faces.

A little bit of Christmas crafting can be taxing, but is excellent stimulation and individuals are pleased to see that they can produce something;

The staff make Christmas time for our residents – they are the main point of contact and make every effort to create a happy celebratory season. Santa visits and everyone gets a present.

Activities coordinator Jacqueline is looking forward to a new project when The Salvation Army group will revisit in early 2019 to begin a new initiative - Singing from the Heart.

'This will be new and bring something different to our residents, we recognise the outstanding benefits that music can have on an individual and with singing as well you get even more benefits'

Our kitchen staff will be engaging their culinary skills to put on a proper Christmas lunch, with all the trimmings and a festive table, making it home for our residents.

Orange Wednesday with the residents, at Belle Vue, Mapperley

Sick of the same old bought stuff? (marmalade that is) - residents were at Belle Vue, so they have decided to 'make their own'.

One gentleman Cyril has marmalade on his morning toast and said he really always liked 'home-made' so the team at Belle Vue thought it would be a good experience to make some themselves.

Reknowned for their baking, lets see what they can produce this time.

Any recipes/tips/jars most welcome - or come and join in!
