Carer Gemma gets Creative as Coordinator - Park House, Bulwell

Carer Gemma Crookes moves on to take the activities role at Park House and engages the residents making 'Dream Catchers''this really took their interest' said Gemma and residents that dont always want to participate did for this' and the residents are now  looking forward to Card Making.

Crafting is very popular here at Park House and we know it is very good for interaction and a great stimulus which helps keep an active mind. Also residents are producing something which gives them satisfaction too.

Next week we are going on a walk to Bulwell with four of our residents 'we do need relatives to participate so that we can continue doing these outings' Gemma said

Cookie decorating is popular, but on my first try, Gemma tells us, we had a slight mishap as cook had made cakes to be decorated the previous day, and they got eaten as part of tea by accident. Cook to the rescue and a large extra batch were made for decorating .... Picture right Gemma in splendid cooks hat!

Zoo lab was a popular afternoon with visitors comprising; a snake, tarantula, millipede, lizard, a delightful cockroach and a snail. The residents were marvellously brave, but there was concern for the cockroach as John has a habit of suddenly clapping his hands very vigorously!

We are pleased to say that cocky lives on to thrill many more residents!

A visit to the local Weatherspoon's is one of resident's favourite trips, our nearest one is really welcoming and staff make an effort securing a special area to accommodate us when we visit.

It is good we can get out localy and feel part of the community, that is a real benefit of Park House's location.

There's always something happening at Park House and staff make a real effort to engage the residents and make this a   home for them.
