Celebrating birthday’s is something we do well at Alexandra House Care Home, but nothing beats a birthday celebration like reaching 100 years.
Everyone was very fortunate to celebrate Margaret’s 100th this month and surprise her with a homemade traditional birthday cake from her homeland of Austria, a ‘sachertorte’ which is a very tasty chocolate torte.
Making it a day to celebrate Activities Coordinator Matt Corpe pulled out all the stops and decorated Margaret’s room with scenic and memorable images of Austria, particularly Styrian a mountainous region of Austria where Margaret used to live.
Lorraine Abbiss, Care Home Manager at Alexandra House says: “ We all very much enjoyed being part of Margaret’s special day and spoiling her like she deserves. She received many gifts from the care team and Matt really did go all-out to make Margaret feel very special indeed.”
