Alexandra House Care Home has its very own VIP as resident, local dignitary and former Mayor of Eastwood, Councillor Pat Hamilton 2018-19.
Now the home’s very own celebrity, the former Mayor, who visited the home on many official occasions, says he is very reassured to be cared for in the safe environment of Alexandra House.
Lorraine Abbiss, Care Home Manager at Alexandra House says: “Pat is a huge part of Alexandra House, we love learning about his past, his career, and work he did for the local area. He was given ‘Freedom of the borough’ (the borough of Broxtowe) in 2015, given to him by the local council in recognition of his exceptional service to the City, we feel very privileged to be caring for him here in his new home.
“Although it has been a shock to be in a care home he feels reassured in the knowledge that if anything was to happen he would be safe, he always reminds us he wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alexandra House to anybody who needed a care home as the staff are very caring and devoted to the residents. Such a lovely thing to say.”
Pat doesn’t waste time in the day. He is an avid ice hockey supporter following his home team the Nottingham Panthers, watching the games online at Panthers TV, as well as Derby County and Notts County F.C supporter.
