Celebrating the tradition of the Harvest Festival and the beginnings of the autumn season everyone at Alexandra House Care Home made their very own scarecrow.
Called Cuthbert, the home scarecrow is a triumph of a creation that would make any farmer proud to own.
Cuthbert is now displayed proudly in the home against a backdrop of a freshly harvested and baled wheat straw for all to enjoy as they walk by.
Alexandra House Care Home Activities Coordinator Matt Corpe talks about the activity: “Recognising the change of season is something we really enjoy, especially when we can express that in a craft activity. We thought we’d replicate what it means to us by creating a scarecrow. With his brightly coloured outfit he’s sure to keep the crows away! Take a look at the photograph and let us know what do you think?
