A bundle of knitting for the bundles of joy at QMC Hospitals NHS Trust Neonatal Unit were presented to ED Nurse Laura Pullen by mum Trayce Archer Pullen, Melbourne House Activities Coordinator.
The resident knitting club at Melbourne House Care Home has been in full stitch for weeks, to knit vital blankets, bonnets and mittens needed for premature and sick babies at the Neonatal Unit.
Care Home Manager at Melbourne House Care Home, Alicja Szefler says: “A group of our residents are experts at knitting. Putting their skills to good use they had the idea of supporting the NHS and particularly the Neo Natal Unit, where they care for premature and sick new-born babies is a priority. Premature babies loose body heat really quickly so our knitting talents created a productive outcome to keep the babies snug and warm.”
