Melbourne House Care Home is celebrating a significant achievement as it excels in the NHS hydration pilot scheme, demonstrating its commitment to providing the highest level of hydration care for its residents.

The care home’s dedicated efforts throughout November have earned them the prestigious Silver ROC Standard Hydration Care certificate, highlighting their outstanding dedication to resident well-being.

The National Health Service (NHS) hydration pilot scheme aims to enhance the quality of hydration care for residents in care homes across the country. Care homes participating in the scheme are required to adopt the ROC methodology and input Point of Care (POC) data onto an App, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of hydration care practices.

Melbourne House Care Home has not only embraced the pilot scheme but has gone above and beyond to excel in its implementation. The care home’s proactive approach to staff training and education has been particularly noteworthy. A significant number of staff members completed the online learning management system, demonstrating their commitment to delivering the highest standards of hydration care.

In recognition of Melbourne House’s exceptional efforts, they have been awarded the Silver ROC Standard Hydration Care certificate. This certificate acknowledges the care home’s enhanced hydration care practices, with recognition from the Institute of Clinical Benchmarking (ICB). Achieving the Silver Standard is a testament to Melbourne House’s unwavering dedication to improving resident well-being and ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Alicja Mensah, Manager at Melbourne House Care Home said: “We are thrilled to receive this recognition from ROC and the ICB. Our residents’ well-being is our top priority, and we will continue to strive for excellence in hydration care and all aspects of resident care.”
