Alexandra House Care Home takes its lead from nature to create its very own memory garden, for residents and families to visit, to remember those who have passed, especially those more recently who lost their lives to the pandemic.
Designed by keen gardener and resident Joe, his knowledge and skills put together the design and planting for the garden of quiet contemplation.
Helped by the care home Activities Coordinator, Matt, the pair worked together to create a raised bed, which is hoped, will be a point of interest all year-round.
Lorraine Abbiss, Care Home Manager at Alexandra House says: “Having a quiet place to go and remember those who are no longer with us is very special. With thanks to the expert guidance of Joe, we’re hoping it won’t be too long before it is established and a haven for nature which we can all enjoy, whilst taking a moment to honour and remember lost friends and loved ones.‘’
