Quality Health Care

Whether your needs are for respite, nursing, dementia, palliative, residential, convalescent, personal or specialist stroke care we are confident you will be delighted with the support our homes provide.
Core values throughout our organisation are "the 6 Cs": Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.

Good dental care helps residents to eat well and maintain a good diet.

Facilities

Rather than re-purpose old buildings Eastgate homes are all designed as care homes from the ground up. Our focus is on providing the best environment for our residents. That means en-suite rooms with walk-in showers. Doors, lifts and corridors all wide enough to allow a bed or wheelchair pass easily. Residents can move between their private rooms, the dining and lounge areas without needing to use any steps.
There is parking on site and free WiFi access.

Enrichment activities

Your first concern will be for the medical aspects of care.  We place a very high value on providing quality of life too.  That means physical and mental stimulation.  Armchair exercise sessions, outings, books and TV, music, games, craft and entertainments.  All tailored to the preferences and abilities of the individual.

We welcome visiting entertainers and where practicable encourage residents to continue with interests such as music, gardening, crafts.

Our lovely resident Audrey had a great BIG birthday with us. Despite lock down, cakes, candles and balloons, accompanied by an outdoor entertainer made for a good party shared with her Melbourne House friends.

The new gazebo will now help make even more use of our outside space. Big Blue will be there for the many activities; arts and crafts, entertainments and maybe have a visitor at a distance – depending on the rules.

Quality control

We aim for the highest standards in all aspects of the care we provide. In addition to our own management measures and controls we are monitored by external bodies Care Home UK (an independent care home review website) CQC (the Care Quality Commission) and the Food Standards Agency (who check kitchen cleanliness and practises).
