The recent spell of mild weather has all of us thinking of enjoying our garden and appreciating the beautiful flowers we appreciate whilst sitting outside.
From sunflowers to sweet peas, residents were given the opportunity to pot their own seeds, all from the comfort of their own chair.
Everyone took turns to plant his or her chosen seed in their very own terracotta pot filled with compost before being taken into a potting area to be kept safe during its propagation.
Activities Coordinator, Naomi Allsop, at Canal Vue Care Home says: “It’s really exciting to be planting seeds, it fills all of us with the joy of the coming spring and summer seasons. When we can feel the sunshine on our faces and sweet fragrance of the flowers we’ll be really pleased we planted our seeds now. We’ll keep you updated with the seedling results.”
