Residents and staff were thrilled to receive a visit from Chaucer Junior School pupils who waved and shared kind messages from afar in the home garden.
The Year 6 group went out of their way to compose messages of positivity and hope and as they stood in the garden displaying hand- written messages, varying from one request to make a Christmas card with another to say they were planting spring bulbs in the home’s raised planters.
As a special treat for the children resident MJ and Activities Coordinator Naomi performed one of their many jamming sessions for the children to enjoy as a thank you for taking the time to visit.
Mrs Wheatley year group teacher said: “The residents were thrilled to see the children as we waved and shared messages from outside. It was so nice to meet the residents from afar and we hope that they are able to meet their families again really soon. We were so proud of all the children for showing their kindness and respect to all the residents we met.”
Activities Coordinator, Naomi, at Canal Vue Care Home says: “The children made themselves very busy to raise the spirits of residents who haven’t been able to receive visits during the pandemic.
