If you’ve ever wondered who decides which care home activities you’ll be pleased to know it is always the people that live in the home that decide.
At the start of every month a home consultation is led by Nicola Curzon, Activities Coordinator, and residents get to have their say on what they would like to participate in for the month ahead.
Already for November the home has held creative balloon exercise classes, reminiscence activities, bonfire night firework display, baking, remembrance crafts and many movie mornings.
The remainder of the month is equally action packed with a church service from resident and Methodist lay preacher Derek, bingo in the lounge, live music from vintage singer Jonny Victory and bird box making. Take a look at the full calendar here
Nicola Curzon, Activities Coordinator at Park House Care Home says: “It’s vital those I support decide their own activity plan, some days people just want to relax and mooch the day away, other times they really fancy a good film or rolling their sleeves up to get involved in a creative task. Regardless of what we do I always aim to maintain a wonderful homely and supportive vibe where every individual’s wishes are always regarded as important.”
